SS12 INNOVATION CHALLENGE

SS12 Innovation Challenge is a Code-A-Thon and Make-A-Thon Challenge organized to recognize the best social innovators in Asia Pacific. The theme for this year is ‘EMPATHY TO ENGINEERING: SOLUTIONS FOR MACRO ISSUES’. Students form Universities all over Asia and Middle East will be participating displaying their engineering skills.

Students with drive and passion towards helping humanity are invited to register for the competition. The first round of the competition is to be held all over Asia in the pilots selected on the basis of registration. The winning teams will be called for the final round at Colombo, Sri Lanka on September 2018.

 POINTS TO BE NOTED BY PARTICIPANTS (GENERAL RULES):

  • Team size: Maximum of 4 members.
  • Team members may come from different academic institutions and from different countries. Only the registered members of the team will be given certificates. Mentor names should also accompany the team registration.
  • Teams are requested to register with the pilot universities / sections for the first round contest. After the selection, the winners should register for the finals. The registration process will be announced later.
  • Teams are locked at the close of submissions 15 days before the first round contest, and no further changes to team membership and mentors can be made after that date.
  • Each Team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork.
  • The winning team is selected based on the following criteria: Challenge, Innovation, Usability, and Extendibility/Documentation.
  • The team that is selected to represent its country/section/university at the SS12 Finals may continue developing after the Prelims to prepare its submission to the Finals. An industry mentor may be provided by the organisers on request.

Registration of Teams with Pilots: Will be announced by the Pilots
Announcement of winners: Within a week of the First-round contest
Registration for Finals: Till 31.07.2018

SS12 MAKER FAIR

Maker Fair is a celebration of innovators, makers, doers coming together to showcase their products to the local community. All types of makers like Tech enthusiasts, Crafters, Tinkerers, Hobbyists, Industries and other organizations, clubs and forums, authors, artists, students and entrepreneurs are welcome to the Maker Fair.
Teams with passion of doing innovative things and showcasing their projects/products to the international community are invited register for this event.

POINTS TO BE NOTED BY PARTICIPANTS (GENERAL RULES):

  • Team size: Maximum of 4 members.
  • Team members may come from different academic institutions/industries and from different countries. Only the registered members of the team will be given certificates. Mentor names should also accompany the team registration.
  • Teams shall display their working projects in the venue, explain and demonstrate to the audience and evaluators.
  • The evaluation will be based on the following criteria: Challenge, Innovation, Usability, and Extendibility.
  • Teams are locked along with abstract submission, and no further changes to team membership and mentors can be made after that.
  • Each Team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork.

SS12 JUNIOR EINSTEIN TRACK

Fresh minds cater for fresh innovations in the domains untouched and for the issues unresolved. We invite students with curious minds to explore the possibility of becoming Einstein.

POINTS TO BE NOTED BY PARTICIPANTS (GENERAL RULES):

  • Team size: Maximum of 4 members.
  • Age of the participant should be <17. Proof for the same shall be submitted.(Bonafide letter from school or birth certificate)
  • Team members may come from different academic institutions and from different countries. Only the registered members of the team will be given certificates. Mentor names should also accompany the team registration.
  • Teams are locked along with abstract submission, and no further changes to team membership and mentors can be made after that.
  • Each Team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork.
  • Teams shall present their innovation with working model in front of audience and jury.
  • The projects can be a software solution or hardware integrated.

SS12 VIRTUAL TRACK

Nothing can stop people from showing off their innovation for social cause to the right audience at the right time. Distance does not matter; money is no obstacle, if your project is a point of pride for you. Participants who cannot reach the venue physically are invited to register for virtual track to present their projects online.

POINTS TO BE NOTED BY PARTICIPANTS (GENERAL RULES):

  • Team size: Maximum of 4 members.
  • Team members may come from different academic institutions/industries and from different countries. Only the registered members of the team will be given certificates. Mentor names should also accompany the team registration.
  • Teams shall present their project online to the Jury.
  • The evaluation will be based on the following criteria: Challenge, Innovation, Usability, and Extendibility.
  • Teams are locked along with abstract submission, and no further changes to team membership and mentors can be made after that.
  • Each Team is solely responsible for its own cooperation and teamwork.
  • E certificates will be provided for participants and winners.
  • Details about the platform & logistics will be announced later.
